Sally Hansen Rose-a-go-go!

Afternoon, Lovelys!

I’m trying to stay on top of things here by actually doing mani’s so that I can be semi regular with my posting. It has seemed like it’s rather busy as of late because our camp season has begun and I’ve been working on devotionals and things to do with the kids. The camp that I counsel at is for inner city kids with one or more parents in jail and we teach them about God. It’s been a challenge for me, not only mentally, physically and emotionally, but also spiritually. It’s challenged me in my faith and I’ve had to teach kids things I didn’t know and that’s forced me to learn what’s in the bible. I am a bit lacks in that area and I’m not proud of it. But it’s forced me to dig deep and learn myself, and so it’s been beneficial to me as well. Plus, it’s a blast being able to do the camp. I’ve made life-long friends there and I enjoy them all so much. Sometimes. ;)

Anyways, the mani I’m showing today is with Sally Hansen Insta-Dry 06 Rose-a-go-go and Bundle Monster plate number 208.  Surprisingly, I liked it. It was more of a fleshy pink than a pink pink, so that helped a lot. :)

Anyways, hope y’all are having a great week!

Gradient Stamping

Hello Peoples!

Today’s mani was an experiment, Heehee!  I saw Miss80Million do this here and I thought it was the cutest thing *ever*. And best of all, I got to try it on a friend.  >:D

No, it was fun and it turned out better than I had hoped! So here it is.

Pretty much what you do, is you start with a gradient mani and then stamp from BM plate 221 with one of the colors that you used. In thing mani, I used China Glaze Pool Party and Pure Ice Superstar. When I was ready to do the stamping, I tried it and then realized that the nails were too….rough for the stamp to adhere. So I put a thin layer of top coat on to create a smooth surface. It worked great after that. :D

I do apologize for the quality of the pictures, I didn’t have my normal camera and we were outside when we took them. You still get the picture. :)

I was a bit unsure as to whether my friend would like it, cuz she doesn’t wear polish that often and never any designs, but she liked it! Her mom said that it reminded her of strawberry ice cream.  What would you call it?

Anyways, thanks to Gab for letting me do her nails! Love that girl…:D

Tribal Nails

Guten Tag!

So one of the last times I was on YouTube, I saw this talented lady do some tribal stuff and I decided that I was going to try it!

Since it was my first time trying the tribal stuff, I decided to just do exactly what she did in the video. So these are NOT my own ideas. I just wanted to get my feet wet so I could get an idea of what tribal stuff is like.  And trust me. There will be more!

Anyways, I used the Revlon 730 Valentine from my previous post and a white stripper pen from Art Deco. It was a very interesting process and I’m somewhat in love with it. Hmm… I really like how it’s kinda funky, but at the same time, it has that ancienty look to it, since it’s tribal. I don’t know. :) I have an odd look on most things..Heeheee!

So yea.  Yeah for new things!! Anything you’ve just recently tried that turned out better than you’d hoped?

Revlon 730 Valentine

Good afternoon!

So today, I’m going to do my first swatch! A few months ago, a friend gave me a few polishes, one being Revlon 730 Valentine. So here we go!

This polish is a deep, bloody red that I believe is considered a crème. Correct me if I’m wrong. Anyways, it went on very smoothly and there were no streaks.  I used two coats and that seemed to do a good job for opaque-ness.

It was, however, quite the bugger to photograph. It’s a bit darker in person that in the pictures. I really like this color and I have plans on using them again soon. Well, that’s all I have for today. :)

E.L.F. Purple Dream and Golden Goddess

Good afternoon!

About a week or two ago, a new friend of mine was telling me about a company called “Eyes Lips Face” E.L.F. as most people know it. But she was telling me that they had some great polishes and that I should look at it. Actually, this was on Mother’s day weekend. So I go to their website and as a Mother’s day special, they were having free shipping! So I just thought, why not? Lol I ended up getting 11 polishes total. ^^

I got Metal Madness, Purple Dream, Mint Cream, Mango Madness, Golden Goddess and I also got two three piece sets called Mysterious and Glam Bam. I didn’t realize this at the time, but I did a double order of three of the colors. The thing was that they didn’t say what the names of the colors were in the sets. Either that or I just didn’t see it, which wouldn’t surprise me for how dyslexic I can be. I even switched the d and s while typing this! Making it sydlexic instead of dyslexic. ^^ Oh my goodness...

Anyways, I got that order a while ago and I LOVE all of the colors! And the three repeats I got are all my favorites, so that worked out really nicely for me. :D

For this mani, I used the Purple Dream as my base color and them I used the Golden Goddess. I think I went a bit overboard with the glitter on my right hand, but my left was a bit better. But even with how much I put on, I still adored this mani.

This is the first time I’ve used Elf and I was really impressed. The polish dried pretty quickly much to my surprise, there wasn’t any streaking that I saw and it’s a pretty flexible polish. And honestly, for as good as a polish that it is, I don’t’ know why it’s not more expensive. Any ways, great product and I’m ready to get more. :)

Wacky French Mani

Hola!

So, somewhere, I saw this mani and I put my own twist on it.

I did kind of a wacky French mani with China Glaze’s For Audrey, with a white strip for the French tip. Like I said, I saw the mani above and wanted to do something like it with my own idea to it and I was looking through my stamping plates and decided on the bow. It was small and delicate, and I liked that. Red Angel plate number 121 with white polish. I did the bow higher on the other hand but I like it right on the line so much better. It seems cleaner. Less messy, if that makes sense.

It’s a bit irritating for me with I try to paint my right hand with my left hand. And it’s even more irritating what it doesn’t come out very clean. Bugger. Lol
