Two Impossible Things Made Possible!

Oh, goodness! Is this possible? Have I really created a blog? And a better question yet is, what have I gotten myself into?! Ha!

So, this would be the first impossible thing for me. Starting a blog. I’ll admit that I’m shaking as I type cuz I’m so excited/scared. ^_^ Never thought I’d do this, so we’ll see how this all goes.

Anyways, I’d like to say hi! My name is Allison, even though my username is annlayc. Ann’s my middle name. :) I’m turning 19 towards the end of March, I love music and I am a born again Christian. And let me make my first thing to post be my statement of faith.
~~~
Throughout my life, I have always known that I am a sinner and up until about two or three years ago, I didn’t really take any of it seriously.  I thought that I could live my life however I wanted to and then I’d get saved.  I believed that the Christian life would be boring and that I wouldn’t be able to have any fun.
But through hearing biblical teaching, being challenged in my beliefs, and through some painful experiences, the Holy Spirit moved me and showed me how wrong I was in thinking that I could get saved on my own time.
About two years ago, we lost our Grandma Laycock and it was a pretty tough time on all of us, but through that, God caused me to run to him and he gave me a stronger faith and trust in him.  And then, about five months later, one of my 13 year old cousins died in a tunnel collapse.  That really showed me that life is short and there can only be a joyful life after death if you are in Jesus Christ.
It’s been a slow process, but I feel like God has really blessed me in life with a doctrinally sound church, wonderful family and friends, and godly influences.  But it has really been by God’s grace and forgiveness, his mercy and his love that have really been the biggest factors in me coming forward for baptism today.  Eph. 2:8 says “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God” and it has been truly amazing that our God who is just and mighty, saved me.  I know that I’m still a sinner and that I will still struggle with sin, but it is my prayer that I may live my life in a way that is pleasing in his sight.
 I’ve come before my church to be baptized in order to obey God and to identify myself as a fellow believer in the body of Christ.  And I ask you all, brothers and sisters in Christ that may read my blog, to help me do that by keeping me accountable  and by encouraging me to walk in the light, in a godly manner.  I can truly say that I have more joy in Christ than anything else.  He is my strong tower through trial, my comfort in pain and toil, and he is my Savior, my Lord and my God.
So now, I have listed two impossibly possible things! One is that I actually started a blog and two(which is so, So, SO much more important!) is that God decided that I has His child and he saved me. :D God is so amazing….^_^
Well, I guess that’s all I’ll post today. Hope you all (whoever you are. Lol) have enjoyed this as much as I have enjoyed writing it.  See y’all later!
